CITY CHURCH 2 YEAR GENEROSITY INITIATIVE

ONE GOSPEL FAMILY.
ONE GOSPEL FUTURE.

OUR PRIMARY GOAL
100% ENGAGEMENT
We want each person and family at City Church to go ALL IN as we step out in faith and pursue the future that God has for us. It’s going to take each of us joining together as ONE family to pray fervently, engage fully, cheer loudly, and give generously. If everyone in our church family does 100% of what God asks them, we’ll accomplish all that God has in our future.
OUR SECONDARY GOAL
$2.55 MILLION
We’re inviting our church family to join us in a vision that will propel us into the coming years of ministry at City. This vision continues what we’re witnessing God do already through the ministry of our church and introduces new opportunities in Next Generation Staff and New Building. Family, we’ve seen God do much already and we know He’s not anywhere near being done!

THE BREAKDOWN
ALL IN is a two-year generosity initiative that will help us grow in intimacy with God and provide the resources needed for the future of our church family. We are calling City Church to invest in unprecedented ways as we step out in faith and live into the future that God has for us.
$1.9M MINISTRY
We’ll continue to train our church family to deeply attach to God. Together, we’ll continue to Multiply the Gospel, give our best to the next generation, and be a better gospel-family for the future to come.
$500K BUILDING
We will build a new larger building that will better equip us to serve the people- especially the kids- of our church. We will double the amount of space we have to minister to children and provide a welcoming experience for new guests.
$150K NEXT GEN STAFF
We imagine our church growing significantly over the next two years - ministering to over 200 kids and youth every week. We’ve been entrusted with a bounty of kids and youth. We need to hire more full time staff to equip parents and teach kids and youth how to follow Jesus right now.

What are you asking me to do?First and foremost, we are asking that you pray and seek God’s direction on what He is asking of you. Prepare your heart to hear Him and then listen to what He says. Then take a next step. Engage in personal reflection with God in this guide. Talk with your spouse, your family, or your roommate, or those in our church family about what this commitment will mean for this next exciting season of your life. We are asking that you make a sacrificial commitment to gospel-centered generosity—whatever it is that God leads you to do. Follow His leading. Finally, we ask that you prepare to be amazed. We serve an awesome God, and He is going to move in huge ways. We anticipate an unprecedented impact from our collective All In commitments—something only God can do. Please mark your calendar for Commitment Sunday, August 29 and prepare to experience a life-changing worship service that will forever be remembered as a defining moment for our church and our own faith.

How is All In different from previous generosity initiatives? We are more focused on everyone at City Church seeing their giving as an integral part of the discipleship process and then being challenged by God to take a next step. The bulk of this notebook is focused on helping us dig into some key Biblical principles that guide us in this area as we follow Jesus. This is our first priority—100% participation in the process. Even if someone wrote us a check today for our secondary goal of $2.55M, we would still do this initiative. Whether we’re just starting in our giving journey or we’re very committed givers, we all have a next step to take and room to grow in this area.
-
How does $2.55M over two years compare to current giving at City Church? Our current annual giving is approximately $900,000 multiplied by two years is $1.8M. So, in essence, we’re believing God to increase our resources by $375,000 each year for a total of $2.55M.

Are there additional ways besides cash that I can give toward All In?Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give toward All In. You might have some stocks, property, or other items of that nature. Or you may have stored resources that God has blessed you with in the past that He just might be calling you to give during this time. Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help you. Contact Jeremy Young @ Jeremy@borocitychurch.com if you’re interested in making this type of donation.

What if I have never even given to City Church before? All In was crafted specifically with you in mind. All In is a “one fund” generosity initiative. It’s different from a traditional capital campaign where you are called to give an extra gift above and beyond your normal giving, thus creating two steps for people who aren’t yet giving. All In is a call to sacrificial, gospel-centered generosity for absolutely everyone at City Church. If you have never given before, this is your chance to get in the game with a committed sacrifice. We really hope you will.
-
How long is my commitment? We are asking that everyone make a two-year (24-month) commitment. The fulfillment period for your commitment will begin with Celebration Sunday and our offering on Sunday, September 26 and it will culminate in September of 2023.
-
What if I am new around here? All In is about the vision for our church and our personal discipleship in giving as followers of Jesus. We believe that the local church is one of the most compelling missions to give toward, and we would really love for you to make City Church your home and join us in All In. If you are ready for it, this is a perfect time for you to put a stake in the ground and make this your church. The best way to become a part of the City Church family is to attend the next Weekender.
-
What if I don’t have a job right now? What does that mean for my All In commitment? All In is about your total, radical, sacrificial generosity to God’s mission at City Church. We believe that God calls us to action in times of hardship just as much as He does in times of abundance, and that looks different for every person. All In is about a heart change—one that is only accomplished by surrendering our lives completely over to God in this area of giving and declaring that we are a people who are unfinished. That may mean that you are being challenged to sell things, to pick up odd jobs, or even to trust God in faith by making a commitment that you don’t quite know how to fulfill right now but that you believe God will provide for, as you seek for ways to work towards that commitment. We would like for 100% of us to be a part of All In so that we can all be supporting, loving, encouraging, and praying for one another through this spiritually-stretching season at City Church.
-
What if I am severely in debt right now? Am I still supposed to give?If you are someone currently seeking to make payments to pay off debt right now, we commend you for making progress on that. And you should continue to do so. We would be happy to help you in this journey and/or to recommend a budgeting class that might minister to you. Being in debt does not, however, “excuse” someone from giving. Giving isn’t about what God wants from you; rather, it’s about what God wants for you. It should be our joy and privilege to give at all times. Please visit with Pastor Trevor if you need assistance with this or if you would like to speak with a budgeting counselor. We would be honored to help you!

What if I haven’t been baptized yet?Great question. People take different spiritual steps at different times. Some people begin praying before they begin attending church. Others begin going to a community group before they begin talking to God in prayer. Giving is another spiritual step, and it comes at different times for different people. However, just like other spiritual disciplines, giving draws us closer to God. God is calling ALL of us to give. “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21) Whether you have taken the spiritual step of baptism or not, we would encourage you to join us in All In. We firmly believe it will draw you closer to God and hopefully to a place where you are ready to make the decision to become baptized and to surrender your life to the Lordship of Christ. THE FUTURE
For me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
PHILIPPIANS 1:21
WHAT IS A ONE FUND INITIATIVE?
Instead of giving toward multiple funds (general fund, building fund, Christmas Mission Offering, etc.), we will be combining all generosity toward one, ALL IN initiative fund for the next 2 years. This will include fulfilling our everyday ministry as well as the future vision we are moving toward.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Will you journey with God and your church family to take the biggest step of generosity you’ve ever taken? Let’s go ALL IN and grow together as we stake our trust on Jesus Christ for the future He has set before us.
HERE ARE YOUR 4 NEXT STEPS
ONE PRAY
Ask God to deeply attach you to Him, having the same mind as Christ. Loving and glad generosity flows from a loving and joyful God. Ask Jesus to make you like Him. Then ask God to provide us with everything we need to Mutiply Gospel Change. For Broken People. On Purpose.”
TWO ENGAGE
Our goal is for 100% of our church to journey through ALL IN...together. Engage the ALL IN study in community group and engage in the worship gatherings from Aug 8th-29th where we’ll speak directly about the vision of ALL IN.
THREE CELEBRATE
Own the ALL IN vision and become a cheerleader for it within your spheres of influence. Celebrate what God has done in you since you’ve been in our church family, and fan into flame the steps of faith you see others taking.
FOUR GIVE GENEROUSLY
Ask God to show you what it looks like for you to give in a way that shows your dependence on God, and then take the required steps to do it. Make plans to participate in the Advance Commitment Sunday on Aug 15th.
